Sv1xv

I am interesting in becoming a PD-reviewer. Sv1xv (talk) 11:33, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. The waiting time for people to comment is 7 days. RlevseTalk 20:26, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

For the time being I prefer to mark suspect uploads with {{Wrong-license}}, so that some PD reviewer examines them. I am specifically worried about professionally looking potraits of celebrities with low resolution and random sizes. Sv1xv (talk) 09:11, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

No objections. Approved.RlevseTalk 09:55, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Rambo's Revenge

I think this is a great idea, and have been a supporter of the idea since it materialised on en.wiki. I have done some image reviews for featured content candicies at en.wiki and am pretty familiar with what is and isn't PD. Rambo's Revenge (talk) 10:52, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Jappalang

I have been reviewing images for Wikipedia's FACs (since December 2008, promoted logs, non-promoted logs) and images on Commons. I am not a lawyer, so my ideas on public domain material are based on the rules and guidelines of the project as well as much of the words of Elcobbola. My stance is centered on verifibility of the information that support the images' PD status. My standards have been called much stricter than what others think is appropriate for the projects.[1][2] I adopt a hobbyist stance towards the projects, so I might not be able to commit to a heavy work schedule and might be intermittent in such endeavors. Jappalang (talk) 01:24, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

  •  Support Haven't actually encounted this user on en.wiki, but the name rings a bell. Had a look at an image review which was all good, and anyone who is willing to show this kind of attention to detail can only be a beneficial to this reviewing process. Best wishes, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 23:54, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

NuclearWarfare

I was very interested in the idea of Public Domain reviewing; I feel that it is, like Flickr reviewing, which I have done, a great idea. I believe I have sufficient experience both on Commons and Wikimedia projects in general to be allowed to help out some. NuclearWarfare (talk) 01:40, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

I was tempted to do that on being a trusted user but did not see a flickr reviwer tag on his user page. APPROVED!RlevseTalk 01:30, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Matthewedwards

I'd like to become a named PD-reviewer. I'm very familiar with PD status of images, especially those in the UK and US. I already do PD image reviews at Wikipedia in the Featured list process. Thanks, Matthewedwards (talk) 03:42, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Support. Matthew does good work, and would be an asset as a PD reviewer. Matthew, you don't happen to be a flickr reviewer by any chance? NuclearWarfare (talk) 14:13, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
I am now. Matthewedwards (talk) 18:22, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Support. Would be useful for Matt to be able to PD review files as he comes across them, while image reviewing on FLs. Rambo's Revenge (en.wiki) 16:14, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Mifter

I'd like to become a PD reviewer, I am already a Flickr reviewer and Commons Rollbacker, in addition to being an admin at the English Wikipedia. All the Best, Mifter (talk) 18:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Requests for PD-reviewers

Yasu

I see the number of PD reviewers is much smaller than that of Flickr reviewers, so I would like to take a part and help out. I am trusted and have reviewed some Flickr, Picasa and Ipernity files already. Yasu (talk) 14:55, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

Great, approved!RlevseTalk 15:26, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for your prompt action! Yasu (talk) 14:56, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Questions

Sysop adding themselves

May sysop add himself automatically to the list?--Anatoliy (talk) 21:02, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, if you feel comfortable with PD policies. RlevseTalk 21:07, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Script modification request

Perhaps User:Patstuart/Flickrreview.js could be modified for this task? It seems like it wouldn't be that hard to do so, I would think, and the automation would really help this process move a lot faster. NuclearWarfare (talk) 01:08, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Pls contact Rocket000, he's doing our coding and he's got two tweaks on the plate now. RlevseTalk 01:41, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, I'm just a mere template coder. I lack any significant javascript skills. (But those two tweaks are done :) Rocket000 (talk) 14:36, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Speedy approval for Flickr reviewers

It makes sense to me if the user is already trusted in Flickr reviewing that they need not wait the seven days for approval, yeah? Or has this already been brought up? Rocket000 (talk) 14:55, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Not brought up yet, but makes sense to me. RlevseTalk 18:43, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

This page needs a bit of a rewrite

When I was on IRC asking about roles on Commons, someone pointed me to this page. I think it's great we have this role, but the explanation itself is a bit heavy on jargon. For one thing, the term PD is never even explained. For another, I was having quite a problem determing exactly what a PD reviewer was reviewing for (I know, it's whether or not the image is legitimately PD, right?).

I don't think we have a template on commons that you can add to a page that says, "Needs dumbing down", do we? --Bastique demandez 00:03, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Feel free to take a shot at this. I've added some links.RlevseTalk 10:09, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

I'll help out with the backlog when I get time. — raeky (talk | edits) 23:13, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

As you are a trusted user and rollbacker, that's fine with me. Thanks.RlevseTalk 14:13, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
