| Description |
English: Wednesday 16th June 2021 was one of the hottest days of the year so far, with the mercury reaching 29C in mid-afternoon. With beautiful clear blue skies it seemed the ideal opportunity to photograph trains in and around the Peterborough and Stamford areas and I was not disappointed.
I was fortunate to see the arrival of the empty cement tankers from St Pancras at the Ketton Cement exchange sidings. This delightful little branch winds it's way through the rural charm of Rutland hay fields with a venerable ex-BR Class 08 shunter in charge. What could be nicer than relaxing in a sunny hay meadow whilst you watch the shunting operations? |
