POTY votes
Remember that you can vote only once in the final round; I saw you voted for more than one image in the final round: I suggest you to remove all your votes and leave just one, otherwise none of your votes will be counted. Have a nice day, --Broc (talk) 21:24, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 11:00, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Ain92 (talk) 17:56, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
Ain92 (talk) 21:24, 1 October 2011 (UTC) P.S.
Automobiles/cars vs. trucks
Hi, please see Category:Trucks in snow :-) --:bdk: 20:09, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hello, thanks. And you please see Category:Rail transport with snow. (= Ain92 (talk) 20:12, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I see two problems now. The first is I'm not sure about inclusion of your cat in the Category:Automobiles in snow becuase buses are not included. The second is the difference in "with snow" and "in snow". I think we should ask a native speaker. Ain92 (talk) 20:21, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- There's no problem :-)
- Automobiles (=cars), bicycles, trucks, tractors and other types of land vehicles are all on the same sub-category level in Category:Land vehicles in snow. That's ok. In English buses commonly are not meant when one uses the term automobile (or car) – only in a very broad meaning, but then other "wheeled motor vehicles" are also included (automobile = self-propelled).
- "XY in snow" is ok where XY is a type of vehicle (automobiles, buses, trucks etc.). "Rail transport with snow" is fine as well, because "rail transport in snow" would sound a bit … hmm, at least unusual. --:bdk: 20:49, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
- In Russian language we consider almost all automоtive wheeled vehicles except tractors, bycicles and bikes (for example, buses, trucks and sometimes even special-purposed trucks like graders) as automobiles. Concerning the rail transport, I meant images like File:60163 Tornado 7 Feb 2009 Tallington.jpg, where the train itself isn't covered with snow.--Ain92 (talk) 23:16, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Transparent background and Stub icons
--Gabriel VanHelsing (talk) 05:43, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
T-34
--Robert Niedźwiedzki (talk) 13:54, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
Ain92 (talk) 15:43, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
Ain92 (talk) 21:51, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

--Robert Niedźwiedzki (talk) 20:37, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Though the collection of images for the contest has been completed (as we informed you previously), the organizers of the contest "Wikipedia loves Petersburg" are glad to update you on the current course of events.
Our jury is working hard; on November, 1 it will declare the winners and the recipients of special prizes. Already on November 2 in St. Petersburg, the Art-hotel "Rachmaninov", located on 5, Kazanskaya St., will open an exhibition of works by the participants of the contest. We inform you about the opening time via the website http://wikilovesmonuments.ru/

Ain92 (talk) 21:51, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
"Wikipedia loves Petersburg" contest results are summed up
On November, 1 the winners of the contest "Wiki Loves Monuments" were announced.
It was difficult to select the winners. More than 450 users participated in the contest, having uploaded more than 4400 photographs. The Organizing Committee thanks everybody who took part, tried their hands, and agreed to make their work available to the whole world. There is fascinating work ahead of Wikipedia users: To employ the images to illustrate the articles in Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia which is available in 270 languages.
Do not get upset if you have not won. Look into Wikipedia articles - you may soon find your work there, to help people to visualise the buildings you have taken photographs of. Besides, we will contact you to hand you in a souvenir to recognize your particiation. We hope you will accept this sign of our gratitude.
If you have a chance, you can visit the exhibition of photographs, which has been organized in Saint Petersburg and shows some of the photographs submitted to the contest.
We hope you will participate in the future competitions planned by Wikimedia RU and thank you for your contribution.
You can ask any questions about the contest by sending an e-mail to info wikimedia.ru.
Sincerely,
In the name of the Organizing Committee,
Lvova Anastasia.
