English: An Amphitheatre is an ancient Roman building used for spectator sports, games and displays.
The term is often confused with Greek or Roman theatres (used for drama performances). For these, see Ancient theatres.
Numerous modern stadiums, multi-purpose halls, concert halls and theatre buildings, have also been named Amphitheater. For these, see Stadium, Theatre buildings, or Concert hall. Follow the links on some pictures for more detailed photos.
