935-939 Broadway (also known as 159-161 Fifth Avenue), located between Broadway and Fifth Avenue along 22nd Street in the Flatiron District neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1861-62 and was designed by Griffith Thomas in the Italianate style. The store and office building is typical of the first phase of commercial development in this area. In 1919, architects Rouse & Golstone added a sixth floor to the building. The building is located within the Ladies' Mile Historic District. (Source: "NYCLPC Ladies' Mile Historic District Designation Report, volume 1")
