La Rapide was a steam automobile developed by Amédée Bollée père for his brother. The vehicle was built as light as possible. It was bodies as a Break for six persons, and weight in, completely equipped, at only 1100 kg. It is said having had a cruising speed of 50 km/h, but could exceed 60 km/h for a short time. La Rapide is the first of three such vehicles, each benefitting on improvements learned when building the earlier.
