  • South Anthracite Coal Field — The world's richest Anthracite coal deposits run from Harrisburg northeasterly to the Delaware River/Hudson River water divide in the northeastern corner of Pennsylvania.

 

  • North Anthracite Coal Field — a few more folds north and west along the Ridge and Valley Appalachians lies the world's second richest Anthracite deposit which runs along the basin formed by the several river bottoms and through & along their several flanking ridgelines bounding the Greater Wyoming Valley.
