Italiano: La cosiddetta "Basilica di Ercolano", riconosciuta in recenti studi essere invece l' Augusteum di Ercolano (dunque il tempio destinato al culto dell'imperatore), è un grande edificio pubblico che si affacciava all'estremità nord del Foro/Decumano massimo di Ercolano, e che è tuttora sepolto sotto la moderna città. Indagato in epoca borbonica (XVIII secolo) col metodo dei cunicoli, ha ridato numerose statue in marmo e in bronzo che ritraggono gli imperatori e membri della loro famiglia. L'accesso all'area del tempio (non aperta al pubblico) avviene attraverso l'arco onorario sul Foro, il cui cunicolo immette direttamente nel portico destro dell'edificio. Statue ed affreschi recuperati negli scavi borbonici si trovano nel Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli.

English: The so-called "Basilica of Herculaneum", recognized in recent studies to be the Augusteum of Herculaneum (therefore the temple destined for the cult of the emperor), is a large public building that overlooked the north end of the Forum / Decumano massimo of Herculaneum , and which is still buried under the modern city. Investigated in the Bourbon period (18th century) with the tunnel method, excavators restored numerous marble and bronze statues that portray the emperors and members of their family. Access to the temple area is through the honorary arch on the Forum, whose tunnel leads directly into the building's right portico. Statues and frescoes recovered in the Bourbon excavations are found in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
