English: Built by J. & G. Thomson, Ltd., Clydebank, Glasgow. Tonnage: 3,321. Dimensions: 338' x 42'. Single-screw, 13 knots. Laid down as Australian. Launched in 1857 as Australasian for the European & Australian Royal Mail Company, Glasgow. Bought by the The British & North American Royal Mail Steam Packet Company (Cunard Line) in 1859. Due to excessive vibration she was given new engines and boilers in 1869 and renamed Calabria. She was still not successful, so in 1876 she was sold and converted into a cable laying ship. In 1879 she was re-engined again. In 1898 she was scrapped at Bolnes in the Netherlands.
