Category:Brassey's Naval Annual 1898

In the 1898 edition the plans of ships were no longer provided by F.K. Barnes, but instead by Sydney Barnaby (1855-1925), son of the Royal Navy constructor Nathaniel Barnaby. The growth of the size of naval ships made it impossible to draw them all to the same scale as before, so a number of plans were provided in half of the original scale, also "with the object of increasing the number of the plates".
