  • English: The Camden and Amboy Rail Road and Transportation Company (C&A) was the first railroad in New Jersey, chartered in 1830. It began operation in 1832. In 1867 the C&A informally merged with the New Jersey Rail Road and Transportation Company (NJRR) to become United New Jersey Railroad and Canal Companies (UNJ). UNJ was leased by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1871.
