Deutsch: Der Campo Santo im Schlosspark Tegel ist der Familienfriedhof der Humboldts, wo Alexander von Humboldt, sein Bruder Wilhelm und dessen Nachfahren bestattet wurden. Eine 1792 angelegte Lindenallee führt vom Südrand des Schlossparks zum Campo Santo. Die Familiengrabstätte wurde von Karl Friedrich Schinkel entworfen. Als 1829 Caroline von Humboldt verstarb, ließ Wilhelm eine ca. 5 Meter hohe ionische Phorphyrsäule aufstellen. Auf der Säule steht eine weiße Marmorskulptur der "Spes" (= lat. "Hoffnung"), römische Göttin, die die Hoffnung personifiziert). So fand sie ihre letzte Ruhestätte - wie sie es gewünscht hatte - im Angesicht des Schlosses Tegels.

English: The Campo Santo in the park of Tegel Palace is the burial ground of the family Humboldt, where Alexander von Humboldt, his brother Wilhelm and the latter's descendents have been interred. A linden avenue, laid out and planted in 1792, connects the Campo Santo with Tegel Palace. Karl Friedrich Schinkel designed the burial site. When in 1829 Caroline von Humboldt died, her husband Wilhelm prompted the erection of an Ionic column of porphyritic granite of ca. 5 metre height. On top there is a marble statue of Caroline by Bertel Thorvaldsen symbolising the Roman goddess Spes (= Latin for "hope"), finished in 1831.
