The Chitrakote falls, also referred to as the Chitrakoot waterfalls of Bastar, is the largest waterfall in Chhattisgarh. It is found on Indravati river, about 40 kilometers west of Jagdalpur. It is about 7 kilometers west of Narayanpal heritage site with a historic and beautiful Vishnu temple. The waterfall is about 100 feet high, quite long and massive during the monsoons when it carries reddish silt-loaded waters. In summer, it covers smaller length and the water is clear and frothy white. Along the falls are trails and several Hindu temples.
