Category:Coate Water

Coate Water is an artificial lake in the borough of Chiseldon in the south east suburbs of Swindon. The three-armed lake was built in 1822 as a reservoir to provide water for the Wilts and Berks Canal. The canal fell into disuse and eventually the lake became part of a recreational park, Coate Water Country Park. The high concrete diving board has Grade II listed protection even though swimming is now prohibited in the lake.
