English: The mosaic in opus vermiculatum (46 x 42.5 cm) of the concluded Cockfight, found in Pompeii in the House of the Labyrinth (VI, 11, 10), and is on display at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples in the mosaics section (inv. no. 9982). It shows a cockfight that has just ended in a courtyard characterized by a herm and a portico with pillars and Doric frieze. On the left is the victorious rooster standing upright and in the background the personification of Victory handing him a crown while a child holds up the palm of victory; on the right, on the other hand, there is, bent and bleeding, the losing rooster and in the background the personification of Defeat, in a distraught attitude.
