The Joseph Thompson Footbridge over the Charles River in Watertown, Massachusetts, was named after a World War I U.S. Army soldier, Cpl. Joseph U. Thompson, June 6, 1898 - October 17, 1918. The new bridge, installed in June 2018, was designed by Gill Engineering and constructed by MIG Corp. under DCR contract P17-3139-C1A.
