Deanestown is a townland in the civil parish of Castleknock, in the ancient barony of Castleknock. It is located close to the residential area of Blanchardstown. The townland is bordered to the south by the river Tolka, to the south-east by Connolly Memorial Hospital in the townland of Abbotstown, to the north-east by National Sports Campus in the townland of Sheephill, to the north by the Blanchardstown Business and Technology Park in the townland of Snugborough and to the west by the Snugborough Road (R843). The townland contains the Waterville housing development and the swimming pools of the National Aquatic Centre.
