The Dodge WC series prolific World War II Dodge 12-ton and 34-ton four-wheel drive, and 1 12-ton six-wheel drive tactical utility vehicles.

From the introduction of the initial G-505 (U.S. Govt. series no°), 12-ton, 4x4, Dodge VC series of light support trucks in 1940, through the equally called G-505, 12-ton, 4x4, WC-1 to WC-50 series (1941), and even extending into 1942, when the G-505 models were succeeded by the G-502 series of 34-ton, Dodge WC-51 to WC-61 4x4's, these were the U.S. Military's first light four-wheel drive vehicles, that soldiers called "jeeps" (a slang word at the time). But starting with the first prototypes of the smaller 14-ton vehicles, and from their mass-fielding from the start of 1942, usage of the term 'jeep' migrated to the typical 14-ton models, and the term 'Jeep' was trademarked by Willys (from 1943–1950 onwards).

The Dodges were from then on more frequently nicknamed "Beeps" (contracted from 'Big jeeps') than jeeps.
