English: Drumcliff was a four-masted iron ship built in 1887 By J. Russell & Co., Greenock, for Gillison & Chadwick, Liverpool. Her dimensions were: 94,86×13,15×7,36 meters [another source gives: 90,96×13,16×7.47 meters] and tonnage 2525 GRT, 2468 NRT [2471 GRT and 2360 NRT] and 2381 tons under deck. Her forecastle was 38 feet long and the poop 36 feet. She was later re-rigged as a four-masted barque. 1898 she was sold to Rhederei Akt. Gesellschaft von 1896, Hamburg, and was renamed Omega. 1917 interned in Peru at the outbreak of the war and used 1918 as a sail-training ship. 1920 delivered as war damage compensation and transferred 1926 to Compania Adminstradora del Guano, Callao. 1958 she sprang a leak and sank on a voyage between Pachacamac Islands and Huacho with 3000 tons of guano onboard.^[1]
