Duffy's Cut is the name given to Mile 59 of the Columbia and Philadelphia Railroad (later Pennsylvania Railroad mainline). 57 Irish workers apparently died or disappeared there during a cholera epidemic in 1832. Violence possibly involved. Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission marker sorta nearby. Investigations ongoing directed by Dr. William Watson of Immaculata University, Rev Dr. J. Francis (Frank) Watson, and Earl Schandelmeier.
