Eridge Castle, in Rotherfield, East Sussex, England, was started in the late 18th century by the 2nd Earl of Abergavenny, to replace an earlier house. The design in 1787 was by Taylor and the 2nd Earl had it re-styled in Gothic Revival fashion to the designs of James Wyatt and John Nash. The Nevill Marquess entertained the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) and Benjamin Disraeli there in the 19th century. The building was demolished in 1937-1938.
