English: The Eudora was a four-masted steel barque, built 1888 by Alexander Stephen & Sons Dundee (Yard No 87) for own account. 1896 sold to T. Shure & Co., Liverpool. On Feb 14 1917 sunk by the German submarine U-83 approx. 30 miles SSW of Fastnet Rock on voyage from Buenos Ayres with a cargo of maize.
Her dimensions were: length × beam × depth = 287.4 × 40.4 × 23.6 ft (87.6 × 12.3 × 7.2 m) and she had a tonnage of 1992 GRT and 1938 NRT. Rigged with royal sails over double top and topgallant sails. [1]
