Category:Frank and Frances Carpenter Collection

The Frank and Frances Carpenter Collection consists of photographs produced and gathered by Frank G. Carpenter (1855-1924) and his daughter Frances (1890-1972) to illustrate his writings on travel and world geography. Carpenter's works helped popularize cultural anthropology and geography in the early years of the twentieth century.

According to the Library of Congress, there is no known copyright[1] on the donated works, however some individual photographs are marked with copyright claims. Photographs taken by the Carpenters before 1923 or later where non-US copyright applies such as {{PD-India}} (expires 50 years after creation before 1958) or {{PD-Kenya}} (50 years since publication), can be marked as public domain using these licenses.
