Fregene, the ancient Fregenae, is a hamlet of the comune of Fiumicino, in the province of Rome. Until 1992 it was part of the municipality of Rome as well as Fiumicino; when the latter became an autonomous municipality it became part of the new comune. It is a well known seaside resort on the Tyrrhenian Sea. In the past decades it was the favourite place of vacation of several artists based in Rome, notably Alberto Moravia, Federico Fellini and famous singers and actors.
