The surviving 55 fresco fragments are mainly from the construction period, whereby the holes that were punched in were compensated during the restoration, they are among the most important from the late Byzantine period. The frescoes were created during the period of cultural flourishing after the reconquest of Constantinople by Nikaia (Palaiologic Renaissance).
