English: Epiphany is celebrated by both the Eastern and Western Churches, but a major difference between them is over precisely which historical events the feast commemorates. For Western Christians the feast primarily commemorates the coming of the Magi, while in the East the feast celebrates the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan River. However, in both cases the essence of the feast is the same: the manifestation of Christ to the world (whether as an infant or in the Jordan), and the Mystery of the Incarnation.

Français : L'Épiphanie est célébrée à la fois par les chrétientés orientales et occidentales, mais une différence majeure entre elles est précisément les événements que la fête commémore. Pour les chrétiens occidentaux, la fête commémore principalement l'Adoration des Mages, tandis qu'en Orient, la fête célèbre le baptême du Christ dans le Jourdain. Cependant, dans les deux cas, le sens de la fête est la même : la manifestation du Christ au monde (que ce soit comme un enfant ou dans le Jourdain) et le mystère de l'Incarnation.
