English: The Harpers Ferry High School – also known as the Shipley School – at 841 Washington Street in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, was built in 1912-13. In 1930 it became Harpers Ferry Graded School when a new Harpers Ferry High School opened in nearby Bolivar. In 1968 it was renamed to C. W. Shipley Elementary School after Charles Waldron Shipley, a teach and principal there. In 1971, the school moved to a new building at 652 Shipley School Road off of US 340. The original 1913 building was purchased by the Nayional Park Service in the 1970s, and is now used by the NPS Harpers Ferry Center for storage. {Description sources: Clio and Jefferson Public Schools)
