The predominently residential area between Lake Pontchartrain and Robert E. Lee Boulevard/Leon C. Simon was built on fill land reclaimed from the lake in the 20th century. This includes the "Lakeshore", "Lake Vista", "Lake Terrace" and "Lake Oaks" neighborhoods and developments, and a strip mall at Robert E. Lee and West End.
