English: J. Marion Sims, born James Marion Sims (January 25, 1813 – November 13, 1883) was a surgeon, once considered the "father of American gynecology," who used enslaved people as subjects for surgical experiments; in 2018 a monument to him was removed from Central Park in New York City.
