The Jamadagni group of temples are several stone and wooden temples on the northern bank of Yamuna river in Thaan, Uttarkashi district. The complex is named after the famed Vedic sage Jamadagni (Jamdaghni), one of the Saptarishi. Regional legends state that this is where his ashram was, where his wife Renuka gave birth to Parashurama – a Vishnu avatar, and where an important Hindu monastery thrived in Vedic and post Vedic era.

The wooden temple is a modern age addition, while the stone temples are from pre-12th century era. Many of the historic Hindu artwork is embedded as display and is now part of the temple walls.
