English: The high security Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap is one of the largest satellite ground stations in the world, which houses 800 people and 33 satellite antennas, — 18 are covered by distinctive white domes. It controls and receives data from geostationary satellites that eavesdrop on a wide range of radio, radar and microwave signals around the world, and also supports early warning satellites, which detect ballistic missile launches.
