Duarte Square, on Sixth Avenue between Canal Street and Grand Street in lower Manhattan, New York City, is a New York City park which features a monument to Juan Pablo Duarte, the liberator of the Dominican Republic, by Italian sculptor Nicola Arrighini. It was dedicated on January 26, 1978. The park itself was opened in 1945, at the time that Sixth Avenue was officially renamed the Avenue of the Americas.
