English: Maiolica is a tin-glazed pottery, created in the arabian world in the 12th century B.C. that comes over with the Moors to Spain and from there to Italy. Dating from the Renaissance, the Italian maiolica reaches a high level of quality. Italian maiolica is often decorated in bright colours on a white background, much of it depicting historical and legendary scenes.
