English: Malabar was an steel hulled, single screw passenger-cargo motor ship built by Barclay, Curle & Co., Glasgow for Burns, Philp & Co. Diesel engine with 2,700 HP, 8 cylinders, 625 NHP and 13.2 knots. Dimensions: 350.9 × 48.7 × 22.7 ft (106.9 × 14.8 × 6.9 m) and Tonage: 4512 GRT, 2685 NRT. Worked the Java - Singapore run from Melbourne via Sydney. Wrecked in fog and aground at Miranda Bay North side Long Bay, 7nm south of Port Jackson near Sydney 2nd April 1931.
