Commissioned by the singer Pauline Garcia Viardot in 1851 from Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, this organ has followed the moves of the Viardot spouses: Paris, Baden-Baden, Bougival. Pauline sold it in 1884 to the Notre-Dame de Melun collegiate church, then without an organ since the Revolution. It was then modified by Charles Mutin in 1896, Duputel in 1912, Paul-Marie Koenig in 1955, Jean Jonet in 1966 ; it was restored in 1983 by Jean-Claude Alcouffe.
