Category:Memorial stone (Városmajor Station)

English:
Budapest Cog-wheel Railway Városmajor Station, Cog-wheel Railway memorial stone (1973) Inscription: 'The rack railway rebuilt for the 100th anniversary of Pest-Buda-Óbuda Unification/ Budapest Transport Company'. The architecturally unassuming station building in Városmajor was built in 1973. The platforms were raised to the floor level of the carriages. The front-loading ramps serving freight transport at the stations of Városmajor, Svábhegy and Széchenyi Hill were demolished. Wooden passenger lounges were also built for intermediate stations, with not too architecturally demanding design. Traffic resumed on 19 August 1973 after a 5-month shutdown on the rebuilt railway track. - Krisztinaváros, 12th district of Budapest
