The Ancestral Tombs of the Ming Dynasty (明祖陵, Ming Zuling) is the garment burial mound of the grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather of the first Ming emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, all posthumously accorded honorary imperial status. Long flooded by Hongze Lake, it was rediscovered in the 1960s and excavated and restored in the 1970s and 1980s. The actual grave of the grandfather is also nearby.
