English: Monongamela was a four-masted steel barque built in 1892 by Barclay, Curle & Co., Glasgow (Yard No 378) for Eyre, Evans & Co., Liverpool with the first name Balasore. Her dimensions were Length: 311 ft (94.8 m). Width: 43.6 ft (13.3 m). Depth: 24.5 ft (7.5 m). and tonnage of 2724 GRT and 2562 NRT. 1913 sold to Knöhr & Burchard, Hamburg, and was renamed Dalbek. 1917 taken over by the United Shipping Board, Postland, OR, and renamed Red Jacket and 1918 renamed Monongahela. 1923 sold to Charles Nelson, San Francisco. 1936 sold to Kelly Loging & Co., Vancouver, and reduced to a lighter. Broke her tow, wrecked and lost at Porcher Island, BC. 17 Dez. 1943. [1][2]
