العربية: موروس
English: The Historic and contemporary Moors refers to several historic and modern populations of Berber, Arab, and Black African descent from Northern Africa, some of whom came to conquer and occupy the Iberian Peninsula in Al-Andalus for nearly 800 years in the period between 711 CE and 1492 CE.
  • Beside the term's usage in historical contexts, Moor is used to designate the present day Moors ethnic group, speaking the Hassaniya language, and mainly inhabiting Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal, and parts of neighbouring countries in the western Maghreb and Sahara Desert.
