This subway runs between Orphans Drive, Newsham Park and New Road, Tuebrook; it originally provided access to playgrounds for the children of the Liverpool Seamen's Orphan Institution. It is also bridge SCT1/13 which carries the Canada Dock Branch; it is 1.55 miles from Edge Hill junction.
