Category:PD Magnetics Compact Cassettes
PD (Philips-Dupont) Magnetics was created shortly after Dupont invented the chromium dioxide tape (1970) and Philips jumped in the bandwagon. Philips then concentrated on their own brand while the Japanese, unwilling to pay Dupont's royalty rates, developed their own ferricobalt type II formulations. PD Magnetics lingered into the 1990s, but never managed to carve a sizeable (or even recognizable) slice of the market.
