Parthenium hysterphorus biggest problem in the landscape is its apparent resistance to the herbicide glyphosate, which is the active ingredient in the popular product Round-up. It has a very heavy seed capacity which can lie dormant for years potentially before germination. As a result rapid spreading in an ideal environment can occur.
