The Prytania Theater is a cinema in Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
It was built in the 1910s (Conflicting dates of 1911 and 1915 seen) and substantially remodeled in the mid 20th century.
By the 1990s it was the last remaining neighborhood single screen cinema in the city. The Prytania is featured in scenes in the novels "The Movie Goer" by Walker Percy and "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole. It was the first cinema in the metro area to reopen after the Hurricane Katrina disaster in 2005.
