English: Rangitiki (or Rangitikei) was a iron fully rigged ship built 1863 by Martin Samuelson, Hull for Campbell & Co with the name Scimitar. Dimensions: 210 ft (64 m) length, 35 ft (10.6 m) beam and tonage 1182 GRT. In 1872 she was owned by J. K. Welch & Co and made one voyage as the Scimitar. 1873 she was purchased by the New Zealand Shipping Co. and was renamed Rangitiki in mid 1874. She was re-rigged in 1889 as a barque and in 1899 sold to Skibs A/S Dalston, Norway and renamed Dalston. 1911 stripped down and reduced to a hulk at Noumea and renamed Paul Bouket. No further history recorded (allegedly she was in 1918 sold and taken to Sydney when everything that could float was sorted).[1][2]
