Category:Sobeys Grocery store at Princess and Front, Toronto
In 2009 Sobeys opened a grocery store in a building on southwest corner of Princess and Front streets, in downtown Toronto. The building had previously been a Fed-Ex shipping depot, and a shoe warehouse outlet. Originally open 24 hours a day, sales started to slump. In 2011 Loblaws opened up a similar sized Nofrills outlet, on the opposite corner. Shortly there-after Sobey reduced their hours. When Sobey's five year lease was over the store was closed in June 2014. Developer have plans to build a huge condo filling the entire block from Princess to Sherbourne and from Front to The Esplanade. There had been plans to open a Sobeys in the new condo.
