English: ‚Sophocles‘ 1138 tons, was an small iron clipper, built in 1879 by Walter Hood & Co. in Aberdeen for William Henderson and Cornelius Thompson (both Aberdeen). Official Number: 77455.
In 1910 the ‚Sophocles‘ was sold to Italian owners and was rigged to a Barque. Th ship was still afloat in 1926 under the Italian flag.[1].
