English: Statue of William Shakespeare at Leicester Square, London, by Giovanni Fontana (1821-1893), after William Kent and Peter Scheemakers. The statue is made of stone, and contains an inscription from the Shakespeare play Twelfth Night. Sculptor and monumental mason Robert Beall (for Walker, Emley and Beall) constructed that part of the monument to which the statues are affixed, and the trough, in 1874.
