العربية: مفارقة ورقة الشاي tea leaf paradox، تصف ظاهرة تحرك أوراق الشاي في كوب الشاي إلى وسط وقاع الكوب بعد التقليب بدلا من تجمعها على الحواف، كما هو مفترض أن يحدث عن طريق قوة الطرد المركزي. أول من قام بحل هذه المفارقة ألبرت أينشتاين في ورقة بحثية قدمها عام 1926 حيث فسر فيها ظاهرة تآكل ضفاف الأنهار (Baer's law).
English: The tea leaf paradox describes a phenomenon where tea leaves in a cup of tea migrate to the center and bottom of the cup after being stirred rather than being forced to the edges of the cup, as would be expected in a spiral centrifuge. The formation of secondary flows in an annular channel was theoretically treated by Boussinesq as early as in 1868. The migration of near-bottom particles in river bent flows was experimentally investigated by A.Ya.Milovich in 1913. The solution first came from Albert Einstein in a 1926 paper where he used it to explain the erosion of river banks (Baer's law).
Français : Le paradoxe des feuilles de thé est un phénomène physique où les feuilles de thé en infusion se déplacent vers le centre du fond de la tasse après un brassage perpendiculaire à la surface du liquide, plutôt que vers les parois de la tasse tel que l'on pourrait s'y attendre lorsqu'une force centrifuge est appliquée. La solution est donnée pour la première fois par Albert Einstein qui explique à partir de là, dans un article de 1926, les causes de l'érosion des berges des rivières (une application de la loi de Baer).
Português: O paradoxo das folhas de chá descreve um fenômeno em que as folhas de chá numa xícara de chá migram para o centro e para o fundo da xícara depois desta ser agitada, ao invés de ser forçado para as bordas da taça, como seria de esperar a partir de uma espiral de força centrífuga. A primeira solução veio de Albert Einstein em um artigo de 1926, onde ele usava isso para explicar a erosão nas margens de rios (lei de Baer).
