The Dungeon is a steep-sided ravine through which an unnamed stream flows; at one point lies the only natural waterfall in Merseyside. It is roughly halfway between Thurstaston and Heswall, and is the only Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Wirral, designated for its geology.
