English: Media relating to The Forbury, in Reading, UK. The term forbury is a mediaeval term for the area in front of a monastic establishment, where it conducted its secular business with the surrounding community. In the case of Reading, the Forbury was the area in front of the gates of Reading Abbey, and which once served as a market and fairground. Much of the site is now occupied by the Forbury Gardens, together with the surrounding street (also called The Forbury and buildings, including the town's court complex and the former headquarters of Berkshire County Council, now a hotel.
